Well, you’ve probably read the introduction and today should be chapter one.
We would love to hear your thoughts, fears, and experiences.
Don’t read ahead (even though it’s tempting) and if you fall behind just catch back up with us.
I pray that God would give each of you
* peace – that you aren’t earning
anything by sharing His love.
*understanding – what is His job and what is ours.
*joy – that sharing His love brings.
*courage – to take a risk and reap the rewards.
We are in this together! Start posting!

Hey Kevin! This book is amazing to me. Everywhere I turn in this book it puts me on the spot in my daily life. These men are amazing and the things that they are doing in their daily lives are astonishing to me because I struggle with this, being a 17 year old male in a public high school, so often I am afraid to speak to my friends and others on campus about my faith because I am afraid of their reactions towards me, but from reading this book it is teaching me that I have no reason to fear the pathetic people on my campus because I have the almighty one on my side!!! (so thank you for so lovingly pushing me to go on this journey with you!)

Hi Mivxgost
Also, I would recommend a couple of other reads, one being, “More Than A Carpenter” which Foothill has been encouraging the passing out of to our friends.
Then there is ” The Richest Man Who Ever Lived” by Steven K. Scott…it’s about King Solomon…it is pretty cool…the mentality is something to understand.
By the way, not much changes when you get older, hopefully your communication skill set improve which are useful tools to have.
I have found…
Different age group, different distractions… still behind ever face is a person who has an agenda with needs and interests.
If you first take the time to find out about the other person, then when the time presents itself to share with them what you have, do so.
Just listen to the other person.
You’ll be surprised as the rejection is not an issue any longer.
If they are not ready to hear they will tell you.
The Holy Spirit will prepare them for his message.
By listening to the other person and hearing what they say , to you, and then repeating back to them what you think you heard them say…you won’t becausing rejection.
Maybe The Lord wants just a small seed planted in this conversation by you on a certain topic…nothing more at the time…maybe it will come later by you or someone else.
This is what I have found to be true.IMHO
Take care..
Share this website with your friends! We can get a book out to them the same day they order. The more the better!
I am looking forward to this adventure. After reading day 1 I can already relate to the book. I was once not anywhere near on the path of Christianity, but after much asking from my kids we went to Foothills. As I sat and listened to Pastor Dave speak about the prodigals of the church I felt as if he was speaking to me directly. That was in January of this year and now I am running a ministry for skateboarders, and daily I share my faith with other people. I never would have thought that I would be out speaking about God and Jesus, but I now seek out people to speak to them about the Bible. It is now one of my new found passions. I find myself seeking more and more knowledge from the Bible and from anyone that wants to speak about it. God sure has taken hold of me and guided me to where He wants me, and what a journey it is turning out to be. I find myself waking up wanting to see what He has in store for me.
I am very excited about this 42 day study. I work with the kids at Youth Venture and at times it is hard to know how to reach them to share the word of God. I look forward to what God will show me during this time. I also have a longtime friend that has recently asked if we could get together and talk about life and marriage. I know her marriage is really in trouble, and I know she has a really big empty spot in her life. She said she just doesn’t feel grounded. As christians we know that only God can truly fill that special place in our heart and souls. I pray that thru these teachings I will find the right words when the opportunity presents itself.
